All about Ala... Nowheresville and beyond..
Nowheresville ‘nä-koja,-abäd, installation view, 2015 @ The Third Line Dubai
Having first come across this artist at his solo exhibition at The Third Line in Dubai in 2015, we have not stopped obsessing over the infinitely talented America-based visual artist, Ala Ebtekar.
Ebtekar is best recognised for his works in painting, drawing, and installation which "explore the juncture between history and myth. Forging a multi-faceted project that melds Persian mythology, science, philosophy and pop culture together, his work returns us to the past as a way of envisioning the future."
His work continues over the years to be just as ethereal and cosmically enchanting. The depth of his work extends into another world, and indeed by method of blending science with mythology, his works takes on a level which encourages desire to further ones exploration of Iranian science fiction stretching as far back as the 10th, 11th and 12th centuries.
